We built Grace to be a quiet place. We collect as little as possible, we never sell your data, and your reflections are private.

1. What we collect

You give us

• Your name(or whatever you’d like to be called) during onboarding.
• Your email address, only if you sign in with Apple, Google, or email.
• Your choices: what you’re carrying, your tone preference, and your reading rhythm.
• Your library: saved verses, private reflections, reading and listening progress.
• Support messages you send us, including any screenshot you attach.

Collected automatically

• Usage and diagnostics: screens opened, features used, crash and error logs.
• Device information: device model, operating system version, app version, and a device identifier.
• Purchase records: subscription status and renewal dates. Card and payment details are handled entirely by Apple or Google. We never see or store them.

We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos (beyond a screenshot you deliberately attach to a support message), health data, or advertising identifiers.

2. Why we use it

• To run the app: greet you by name, keep your place, sync your saved verses and reflections.
• To personalise gently: choose a verse that fits what you’re carrying and set Grace’s tone.
• To deliver audio narration and scripture text.
• To manage your subscription, trial, and restore purchases.
• To answer your support requests.
• To fix crashes and improve the app.

We do not use your reflections to train models, and we do not profile you for advertising.

3. Legal bases (UK/EU users)

Performance of a contract (running the app and your subscription), legitimate interests (security, diagnostics, improving Grace), consent (notifications, where required), and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).

4. Who we share it with

Only service providers who help us operate Grace, under contract and only for that purpose:

We instruct these providers not to use your content to train their models, and we have configured our accounts accordingly.

We also disclose information where required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users. We never sell your personal data and we do not share it for advertising.

Some providers are located outside your country, including the United States and the EU. Where required, transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

5. How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account is active. Delete your account and we remove your personal data, reflections, saved verses, and progress within 30 days, except records we must retain for tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes. Anonymous, aggregated statistics may be kept.

6. Your rights

You may access, correct, export, or delete your data, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent at any time.

Delete your account in the app:You → Settings → Account → Delete account. This is permanent.

To exercise any other right, contact us using the details in section 10. We respond within 30 days.

Your App Store subscription is managed by Apple or Google and must be cancelled there.

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Access to production systems is restricted and authenticated. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

Grace is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes

If we make a material change we will update the date above and notify you in the app before it takes effect.
